AI action plan — A server-validated sequence of proposed FlaskTrack actions prepared from a user request and reviewed before execution.

AI clarification — A request for a real user choice or human-entered value when the assistant cannot safely resolve a plan from available FlaskTrack data.

MCP tool — A registered FlaskTrack operation exposed through the machine-readable agent tool interface with defined input schema, effect, approval metadata, and, where applicable, semantic entity types.

Approval — An authorized decision that allows a controlled record or action to progress.

Audit trail — An append-only record of auditable actions, actors, affected entities, timestamps, and available change context.

Batch — A scheduled workflow execution used to coordinate grouped laboratory work.

Catalog item — A reusable definition such as a species, ingredient, tool, or plasmid.

Compliance event — A controlled record for an incident, deviation, exception, investigation, or follow-up action.

Electronic signature — A reauthorized user action recorded with its meaning, entity, and timestamp.

Ingredient — A material or reagent referenced by procedures and optionally tracked in inventory.

Inventory lot — A physical quantity of a catalog item with location, receipt, adjustment, expiration, and consumption history.

Molecular project — A workspace for sequence sources, designs, primers, assemblies, reviews, and release.

ORCID iD — A persistent researcher identifier that a user may add to a profile.

Protocol — A versioned laboratory procedure containing ordered execution steps.

Protocol step run — The execution record for one protocol step in a batch or sample context.

Reviewable — A draft or changed record waiting for an authorized review decision.

Sample — An individually tracked biological or experimental entity.

Sequence version — An exact revision of a molecular sequence with its own identifier, length, and hash.

Supplier item — A purchasable vendor-specific representation of a catalog item.

Tool — Equipment, apparatus, or operational supply referenced by procedures.

Validation — Documented evidence that a configured system is suitable for a defined intended use.

Workflow — A versioned ordered sequence of protocols used to execute a larger process.
