Primers and in-silico PCR

Molecular Studio includes a reusable primer library and sequence-specific primer analysis.

Primer library

A primer record can include name, purpose, nucleotide sequence, length, GC percentage, melting temperature, and notes.

Use consistent naming so primers remain discoverable across projects.

Primer purposes

Primer purpose may include PCR, qPCR, sequencing, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate, restriction cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, screening, or custom use.

Binding scans

A binding scan evaluates a primer against a specific sequence version.

Use it to check whether the primer binds, binding position, orientation, potential mismatches, and whether a sequence revision has invalidated an earlier primer assumption.

In-silico PCR

In-silico PCR evaluates a forward and reverse primer against a target sequence.

The result can include binding locations, orientation, predicted amplicon, and expected product length.

Note

In-silico PCR is a computational check. It does not establish that a PCR reaction will succeed experimentally.
