Glossary
Assembly
An ordered plan for combining molecular sequence fragments into an output construct.
Catalog plasmid
The operational FlaskTrack identity for a plasmid available to protocols and other laboratory workflows.
Current version
The version presently selected as the active working revision in a sequence history. It is not necessarily released.
Design intent
A project-level statement about how a species, strain, sequence, or construct is intended to be used.
Design project
A Molecular Studio workspace containing the records needed to pursue one molecular design objective.
Feature
An annotation describing the biological or functional meaning of a region on an exact sequence version.
Fragment
A sequence or subsection used as an input to an assembly.
In-silico PCR
A computational prediction of primer binding and PCR product formation against a sequence.
Operational relationship
A catalog-level association recording that a plasmid is associated with a strain or other operational context.
Primer
A short nucleotide sequence used for PCR, sequencing, cloning, screening, or another molecular workflow.
Published / released sequence
The approved sequence version explicitly selected for operational use by a catalog plasmid.
Sequence hash
A fingerprint calculated from normalized sequence content and used to detect sequence changes or integrity mismatches.
Sequence version
An immutable revision of molecular sequence content and version-specific metadata.
Target species
The organism a design project intends to transform, edit, express within, or otherwise affect.
Transformation strain
A strain intended to carry, propagate, or deliver a molecular construct.
Verification
Evidence that an operational biological relationship or result has been confirmed according to the laboratory's procedure.
